What Is PMKVY 2.0?

PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) comes under the scheme of “Skill India” which was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 15th July 2015. The PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme) was launched to help the youth in India to specialize in different skills. This scheme aims to provide aptitude to the Indian youth towards major skills and raise the standard of working and the efficiency to complete the job. The enrolled students are motivated by giving monetary rewards to increase them and providing them with quality training. The scheme also intends to increase the employment rate from 4.9% in 2014. India has the largest number of youth, and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme will benefit them and make them the most employable and with better skill sets by the year 2022. PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) has been rigorously implemented in states like Bihar to make the X/XII dropouts skilled and employable.

Skills imparted by PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) are according to the current job requirements assessed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Currently, about 430 job roles are being catered by the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

PMKVY is Approved for another four years (2016-2020) to benefit 10 million youth, Allocated Budget 12,000 Crores

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
